Yesterday I woke up at 4:30 a.m., went to a park outside the city, and birded for 6 hours. I saw 33 species, including a rare Northern Waterthrush, and a lot of lifers. It was a blast. Here are some pictures I took 🐥

I got up at 4:30 a.m. and birded for 6 hours. Unpacked my home studio. Read a lot of my book. Took a nap. All without rotting on my phone. Let's hope I can keep this energy up!!!

So I got an app called ScreenZen that pauses your apps before you open them with a message saying "is this important?" And you can set a timer for the app every time you open it. It's been working so well! And it's free 💚 i did soooo much yesterday, it was great. It's exactly what I needed

I've gotten pretty good at that! My biggest problem is rotting on my phone when I get home from work or while procrastinating tasks on my days off 😔

Going to try and truly tackle my phone addiction. I'm sick of seeing my life and my passion for art fall to the side just because I use this glass rectangle full of anger and fear and consumerism to distract myself from my feelings!!!!

I wasn’t 100% happy with how characters turned out with this, but I thought it was dope how well I translated digital color to traditional. This was 2023 painting experiment

Amazing! In the past I've struggled with getting paints vivid enough to match digital colors. Did you use a specific type of paint, or is the contrast made from the duller colors surrounding the bright ones? The depth in this painting is so impressive I love it!

I've heard so much advice about #illustration portfolios, I think I've made mine too broad. I think I need to niche down to my specific interests so I can get the kind of work I would love to work on.

Pro tip: don't take every piece of advice you hear 😅 it's often contradictory to itself, too.

I started making dinner right after work bc I was HUNGRY. I put rice in the rice cooker, cooked it fully, and opened it to realize I forgot to put the water in 💀 bruh
