Can we normalize actual listening and not trying to solve people's problems/give them advice when they say things are not going well? I have a hard time pretending things are going fine to my close friends/family when things are not. But when I'm not doing well, I don't want advice, I want empathy.

I mean literally how could you even have anything but a positive review on those weeners? Hot dog cars that go 30-40 mph is the only news I want to see for the foreseeable future!

I feel like studies about why millennials can't buy homes are focusing on the avocado toast and not the fact that my rent costs a full paycheck and I make more than most people my age. Anyway, can we just improve healthcare and have affordable housing and stop whatever this insanity is? Thanks!

Mine still has a CD player, I love it! My mom's had a tape player which was very cool! Had a box of rand tapes in the back seat that would fly everywhere when she braked too quickly, which was always lol.

PSA- wear your best Vans to a job interview! I got 3 compliments on my floral Vans at my 2nd, in-person interview for a Public Services Supervisor position and then got the job offer the next day. I don't attribute all of my success to the Vans, but I think they helped!

I love how in the US at the start of the year, insurance denies essential medications just because they don't want to pay for it. I got a GI diagnosis after 2 1/2 years of chronic stomach pain, with a treatment plan, but thanks to insurance it may be months before I get the meds I need.

The phrase "money doesn't buy happiness" irks me because it's justifying keeping people at a level of financial instability where they can't afford basic needs and are in debt - which certainly leads to stress and unhappiness. So, the ability to make a livable wage can, in effect, buy happiness.

Is it every public librarian's experience that when you make one small change, everyone and their mom loses their mind?

I feel like 30 is a weird age. Sometimes you go to bed at 10pm and wake up holding your own sock, and sometimes you stay up too late playing your Switch and wake up feeling like you did waking up after a night of karaoke in your 20s.
