Coal kept the lights on in KY, but now we're paying the price with rising energy costs and the nation's highest cancer rate.

Kentuckians made it clear at the ballot box in November that we believe in public schools. I couldn’t be prouder of the teachers, staff, and students here in Fayette County. To honor their work, we need transparency and a renewed foundation of trust.

9/11 reminds us of both courage and unity. Heroes ran toward danger, and a nation came together. In light of yesterday’s senseless tragedy, may we find that same strength to stand united when it matters most.

Violence is never the answer to political disagreement. Our democracy exists so we can resolve differences as civilized people, not through bloodshed.

After all, the American experiment was about people from different backgrounds and beliefs coming together to form one nation.

It was an honor to attend my first ever topping-out ceremony today at UK! The new Michael Rankin Health Education Building will help ensure Kentucky has the doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers we need to care for our communities both now and for years to come.

Kentucky battery workers are voting this week on whether to unionize. The right to organize built the middle class, leading to higher wages, safer workplaces, and benefits for all workers. In a world that too often puts billionaires over workers, I stand with the workers.

Some in GOP push to gerrymander out Kentucky’s lone Democrat. Can they do it? “Looks like we have the GREEN LIGHT in KY and Beshear will sign it into law, maybe? A 6-0 map is easily drawn,” one GOP influencer said.

Democracy works when voters pick their leaders, not the other way around. That’s why I support maps drawn by neutral bodies that promote competitiveness, fairness, and true representation. Let’s ensure every vote counts.
