This is just to point out that there are multiple paths to credulity and they converge at the point of fulfillment I suppose. Because obviously I’m aware of all the other paths now.

I for example was only superficially aware of these contexts at the time, yet based on my early experience with Jewish fundamentalism + brief exposure to the Israeli right, I fully believed. It’s not strange if you understand Germany’s long history of conformism and obedience. Even today, Germans prefer to follow a set of written rules and superficial bourgeois decorum rather than risk unrest – even if it costs them their freedom.

German public media are running fact checks on just how starving individual children are, while serious journalists propose that maybe the children are predisposed to hunger due to inbreeding (also they have low IQ, apparently). Germany unhinged is a truly terrifying spectacle.
