Finished this book some time ago, but needed to go crazy with the post-its to feel like Iβm ready for the talks! Thanks, @michelleicard.bsky.social, Iβm really thankful I discovered this book before I really needed it π

31.10.2025 17:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I read a book recently called Meditations for Mortals, and they talk about the impossibility of completing the to-do list and acceptance of that (oof hard). But also to treat your to-do list like a menu youβre choosing from, and that one I really like!
30.10.2025 15:40 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I just read a fascinating book about famous art forger (and eventual convict) Tony Tetro called Con/Artist. I was FLOORED by some of the techniques he used to create his work, like buying 400 year old books to use the blank paper at the front and back for prints.

22.10.2025 13:52 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A quilt covers a bed with soft light coming in through the window behind it.
A colorful quilt made of t-shirts is spread out on my studio floor. The quilt includes a section of improv orange peels, and it surrounded by flying geese and tumbler blocks.
A shot of the details of the corner of the quilt.
A shot of the back of the quilt. The quilt was signed by embroidery saying, βποΈβ€οΈUβ
Completed my third quilt! It was made during my improvisational quilting studies earlier this year where I used only t-shirts! This one tells an icy Lake Erie story: ice crashing, geese flying, and lake glass tumbling. I gifted it to my daughter on her 11th birthday π§Ά #quiltsky
22.10.2025 13:02 β π 17 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Iβve been on a Vonnegut kick as of late! Just finished Bluebeard for the upteenth timeβ¦.was reading short stories in Welcome to the Monkey House but one of them was SO prescient, I had to put that one down π΅βπ« he really predicted so much.
22.10.2025 00:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A paragraph in Kurt Vonnegutβs 1985 novel GalΓ‘pagos. It reads, ββYou, *Doctor Hiroguchi,β she went on, βthink that everybody but yourself is just taking up space on this planet, and we make too much noise and waste valuable natural resources and have too many children and leave garbage around. So it would be a much nicer place if the few stupid services we are able to perform for the likes of you were taken over by machinery. That wonderful Mandarax youβre scratching your ear with now: what is that but an excuse for a mean-spirited egomaniac never to pay or even thank any human being with a knowledge of languages or mathematics or history or medicine or literature or ikebana or anything?ββ
Kurt Vonnegut knew what was happening in 1985.
