I was watching a halloween episode of The Fall Guy this morning, and it went by fast, but I swear they used this shot from SUSPIRIA (1977) in the opening. The episode also featured Elvira and all of the Carradines.

Been thinking a lot about the band Cake lately. I was a teen in the 90s, but didn't listen to many of the contemporary bands that my friends did. I was busy listening to Freddie King, John Carpenter, Billy Joel, & Black Sabbath. But I did buy Fashion Nugget & loved Cake's unique sound. Good stuff.

It has a fantastic theme song sung by Barbra Streisand. I'm not necessarily a fan of her music career, on the whole, but she f'ing nails it on that song.

A few random negative movie thoughts of the day:

I don't like that "Padawan" is a term that gets used as slang in movies and TV shows.

Blue Crush is kinda ruined by the cheesy green screen shot at the end.

The Monkey would've made for a better horror anthology episode than a full-length feature.

Today I found out that John, from Day of the Dead (Terry Alexander) lives in my building. He is a really nice guy!

Little known fact about me, the Final Destination franchise is one of my favs.

I wish I saw it in a packed theater. I imagine that would've been very fun. As a solo home watch, I thought it was just okay. A bit predictable & unoriginal. As an avid romcom fan, I appreciate the attempt, but it didn't succeed on that romcom/horror front, for me. But just 1 dude's opinion.

Vice Squad (1982) might be a better movie than Hollywood Vice Squad (1986), but HVS is more entertaining and has a better cast. Just sayin'...
