From the NYT:

For weeks, Mr. Pulte, who has three million followers, has called for Mr. Powell to either resign….

Can anyone explain to me the relevance of how many followers Mr. Pulte has? The NYT doesn’t post its circulation after everything it says….

Hey @southwestairlines.bsky.social - how come nobody at BWI knows why the flight to BOS was delayed for (at least) an hour?

Also, you discontinued allowing people to download a calendar invite for their flight. Delta still gives you a free invite!

So customer unfriendly these days!

Who wants to match the Wizard of Oz character to the law firm? I’ll start - Paul Weiss is the cowardly lion.

I’m so glad I left there - their lawyers must feel humiliated. I would.

@americanexpress-th.bsky.social Just curious, Amex, what the purpose of the Platinum card is when there is a 40 minute wait to get in your Centurion Club, and when you get in, basically no food unless you have the Black card? In hindsight, a waste of $600 and decades of loyal Amex membership.

@americanexpress.bsky.social Hi! I wanted to let you folks know that the one time this year I will use a Centurion Club was today, and your club at DEN is overcrowded, filthy, and the front desk folks are clearly exhausted from all the furious Amex cardholders because they are crabby as hell too.

Does anyone with a better understanding of history have any idea what Nikola Tesla would think about Elon Musk and his Teslas? Just curious.

Well, if you view being pro-Israel as requiring you to be pro-Bibi, you probably like the way things are going. If you actually care about the security of Israel, you probably have regurts.

I’ve been encouraging some of the unions I work with to increase their joint training programs as well.

I just flew through BWI and BOS, and TSA staffing was lighter than normal, but in no way catastrophic.

Given how easy it is to transfer your skills as a security officer, I would assume the β€œbuyout” offer will be attractive to TSA agents.

Southwest FA out of BOS currently lecturing us that β€˜the airplane lavatory is a normal toilet, which means you have to flush it.’

Jesus wept.

She also explained how she knows when we didn’t wash our hands, because β€˜it’s gross’ when we don’t.

What a world we live in.

My prediction is that the White House just doesn't appoint any more Board Members to the NLRB. Just leaves the Board at 2, unable to conduct any business.

Let’s be gentle with ALL federal employees right now. They work hard and have dedicated their careers to helping the American people, and they are going through a really rough process right now.

I think I would come up with a system for how Friday (and other-day) work is bid on or assigned, and then ask what kind of accommodations, if any, the applicant would need to do the job under the system that you suddenly realized you were lacking. If the process was neutral and fair, you should

Well the issue of whether a religious accommodation can supersede a bona fide seniority list is not one I would want to litigate these days, but that’s not your issue, fortunately.

It sounds like you *have* to schedule someone, but it doesn’t have to be the new person with the religious issue.

There is no bright line objective test for β€˜essential’, sadly. And if you are in a union environment, you will have seniority and bidding to deal with as well.

You are prohibited from discriminating against someone on the basis of religion, even in hiring. However, you are only required to reasonably accommodate religious requirements. If work on Friday is an essential part of the job, you don’t have to accommodate them.

But is it really essential?
