Spent today helping many single parents with food, over-the-counter medication, and safe transportation. These are the simple things I do every day for the vulnerable people in our community.

A young couple woke in the hospital, injured and charged after a violent blackout incident with each other.

Both reached out to me for help. Working to get them into separate treatment programs, separate lawyers, and trauma supports.

Right now, these kids simply need clothing, food, and support so they can keep showing up to school and feel some stability. This father is a hero in my books!!

I am trying to help with groceries, getting his daughter a Chromebook for school (I have a donated one), and I’m transferring one of my vehicles once he can secure insurance. Also working to connect him with stable work.

He was working a framing job where he was exploited. Rent and some food were covered, but no wage. He continues to grieve, parent, and keep life together all at once.

This 30-year-old Dad is trying to raise three children (15, 12, 8) after the loss of their mother (suicide years ago). No nearby family support, only an elderly grandmother who raised him as a boy. She lives on a First Nation and cannot travel.

Helping a single young Dad of three, still grieving their mother’s loss, is struggling after job exploitation and no family support. Helping with food, clothing, a Chromebook, a vehicle, and stable work so the kids can stay in school and find stability.

Also helped a Mom today whose children are in care. All living in Edmonton, yet CFS, for some weird reason, has two offices involved, thus fragmenting the children's files and adding to the confusion and frustration. #yeg

Update: Income Support found a family violence shelter 2½ hours outside the city. Not ideal, but it offers far more support than a motel. The real issue remains that there aren’t enough shelter spaces, and these last-minute scrambles with Income Support are becoming the norm.

Stressful morning. A homeless young mom with small children fled abuse. Shelters are full. After my complaint to the Minister’s office, Income Support called her and said no more hotel extensions. If true, tomorrow two young kids could be on the street—in this weather!

As a registered charity, you get a tax receipt. I get the resources to continue helping vulnerable people, including children, women and men, and the odd pet or two. Please donate-Monthly or one time!

Today was spent with family. Phone shut off, email closed. Crisis, such as where to camp this summer, how to properly mow a lawn, what classes suck in high school, dominated the conversation, and punctuated with photo shoots and with words such as "love ya." #FamilyDay #Alberta

Urgent: Kilee needs a temporary home in Edmonton (no other pets). She’s healthy, gentle, loves people, house-trained, and doesn’t bark or chew. This is short-term while her vulnerable owner with FASD secures housing. #yeg #yegpets

Unfortunately due to Kilee's reactivity to other dogs they wont take her.

Unfortunately, things didn't work out in the home we found for Kilee. He's not a good fit for them and their cat. He needs a home without other pets.

Once again, I am looking for a new home for him.

Vet says he's in great shape. Loves people, house trained, doesn't bark or chew.

Happy to have found a safe, loving residence for Kilee the dog. #Homelessness affects pets as well as humans. #yeg

See my previous posts. I am again looking for a temporary place for Kilee, a lovable dog. He doesn't bark, doesn't chew, and is house-trained. He reacts aggressively towards other dogs and isn't ideal for cats. The owner is homeless after the two fled an abusive house. Anybody? #yeg

Edmonton Police in schools is a waste of taxpayer money.
Funding comes from already limited school board budgets. Cops in schools is a terrible idea. BTW look at the diversity of cops involved in this project. #yeg

Young mom of two (5 & 2). Lived in Alberta her whole life, except a few months back east. Flees domestic violence and returned home in January. Now she’s on the streets. She says Emergency Social Services told her they won’t help: “You chose to move back.” Witnesses to the call, & recorded. #abpoli

She photographed a police drone at a traffic light. It earned her a distracted driving charge | CBC News On May 7, 2025, Kingston Police used a drone to catch distracted drivers in the act. Now, at least two of the 20 tickets issued that day have been withdrawn.

I recall warning of this years ago. Police, including our Edmonton Police, will test boundaries, no doubt in my mind, soon hovering drones over private residences, back yards, and peering in windows.

Third job today. Helping a man remove his 20yr old facial tattoos. Sober and focused on his health, he has no means. However Legacy Tattoo Removal volunteer their time and equipment and are huge partners in our collective community.

2/ His passion, however, is within the social sciences, and he wants to be a social worker. I am helping support him as he takes this step.

1/ second job of the day. Meet with a man I have worked with for over 10 years. He has overcome his addiction and mental health challenges. He has been employed in the trades and sober for the last eight years.

First job of the day. Take a youn woman to court. She was the vixitm of horrific abuse who ultimately made a bad choice and assaulted her partner. I dont know if her partner was ever charged with anything.

This morning met with a young mom who has been in a two year battle to get her children back. She is sober and focused, yet it seems children services is focused on taking her children permanently. Im helping her change that trajectory.

This morning I picked up a vulnerable young mom for court. She has a week long trial regarding domestic violence with her ex abusive partner. She has a very committed lawyer helping her through this situation.

I am happy to say that Kilee the dog has a safe and loving home for the next couple of weeks. Thanks to this amazing community.
