Here is a factsheet on what is currently known about Birchgletscher, the Swiss glacier that catastrophically collapsed on 28 May 2025, following heavy debris loading from Kleines Nesthorn.

If we would remove what stops:

- smart women from science careers.

- insecure geniuses from publishing

- hard working people doubting themselves constantly

-people from being who they are

What world would it be ?

A farmer stands in a field surrounded by strange creatures, part animal, part vegetable and some robot. Each makes a strange noise:
BZONK BZONK!
FRULG FRULG!
PLOFP PLOFP!
CRIMB CRIMB!
KLUP KLUP!

Caption:
Young MacDonald's commitment to cutting-edge Experimental agriculture meant that the farm was far Stranger, but no less noisy, than in his father's day.

Front cover: Stratocumulus asperitas over Tiornuvik (Faroe Islands) on 6 October 2024 at around 1500 UTC facing northwards. An active deep low to the west of the UK and a high over Greenland resulted in a very strong polar maritime flow across the Faroes from the east-northeast with a warm front to the south receding slowly. There was a mean wind of 38kn at Torshavn at the time. (© Sarah Bettini)

More precise snowmelt forecasts SLF researchers optimize snowmelt models with satellite data. These advances are important for more precise flood warnings.

#SLF researchers have used #satellite data to optimize their models, which they use to predict how much #snow there is and when and where it will melt. This progress is important in order to be able to warn of #floods and inundations in good time.

Have you listened to the British Antarctic Survey's new podcast series yet?

In this episode we spoke about the challenges of communicating the science of the climate crisis

It was a really great chat (if I do so so myself 😂)

Reality check: the Reform UK party’s claims on the climate crisis examined Richard Tice made some eye-opening statements on the climate, and the manifesto is packed with even more falsehoods

"Wir müssen uns anpassen" ist das neue "Klimawandel hat es immer schon gegeben":

The five flavours of climate denial by @katharinehayhoe.com:
