But: this reporter was THE go-to covering what is happening inside the White House & fed govt, making this a likely shakedown to chill her & other reporters.

They are unlawfully detaining people for First Amendment protected activities, as far as I can tell. Dragging people out of their vehicles absent witnessing a crime and without a judicial warrant is repugnant to our constitutional order.

Growing up in California, my parents saw the Bracero Program. Workers could legally come from Mexico, work, and return home with money to help their families.

There were some legal protections, too, although not as much as they deserved, hence unions.
