During today’s storm, there was a noticeable difference in wind speeds within a short distance. At the water’s edge along the Outer Beach, wind speeds topped 50 mph. Go a mile or so inland, that gets cut in half. (Left photo courtesy Tommy Tuttle).

Our pal Tommy Tuttle braved the elements out at Pleasant Bay in the Orleans / Chatham / Harwich area this morning, where he recorded wind gusts exceeding 50 mph.

King tides are coming back and may bring some flooding to New England’s shores - The Boston Globe Coastal Massachusetts and Rhode Island will see some of this year’s highest tides, 2 to 4 feet above normal, under a waning supermoon.

Found this at high tide along the west end of Chapin Beach. About 3 feet long. Doesn’t appear to be made of wood.
