Alsorts, but on here just a dedicated NUFC fan that prefers a nuanced, calm and analytical approach to the club and football in general.

Don't think the problem with #nufc is Eddie Howe or tactics. The squad composition is really off. Too many runners, not enough technical players. Makes us extremely predictable and one sided. Front 6 last night all athletic and pacy but technically unimpressive. So one sided, but no alternatives.

'I can no longer get to sleep by myself' - Brentford hotshot Yoane Wissa tells court of acid attack trauma which nearly left him blind days before Bees transfer | Goal.com Brentford striker Yoane Wissa has opened up on an acid attack which nearly left him blind during a court hearing.

I had never heard this story about our new boy Wissa. What a completely insane and horrifying experience. Really hope he succeeds with us #nufc

Excellent thread. I watched him in a few games at the U21 Euros and he really stood out as such an unorthodox player. A weird hybrid between a technically amazing number 10 and a towering CF. Playing very deep in build up but suddenly popping up in the box. I am so excited to see him at #nufc

Excellent article. An incredible end result from a chaotic summer. We have definitely overpaid across the board, but every player bought seems to suit us perfectly. I think we will be underestimated again, the ideal staring point for a successful season #nufc

It would be absolutely ridiculous if we actually manage to get Wissa in today. The totally unnecessary chaos this double saga has caused really tells you that something is not right in football at the moment #nufc

Getting Jackson and thus beating Bayern Munich to their two main striker targets would be an odd consolation in all this #nufc

I could see Artem Dovbyk coming now. Don't really see any other relevant options in the European market that are available #nufc

With a skill set so close to Isak's that should be the assumption. Add a target man like Strand Larsen and we honestly couldn't have done this any better.

My God the Woltemade signing is pure perfection. Fantastic technical ability. Not many of that kind around apart from Isak and Ekitike, but we managed to get one #nufc

I would very much hope so

60 mill is definitely a crazy price, but on the other hand wages will be much lower than what other names mentioned would expect. The only alternative now is probably Jackson, but he would cost the same, wages would be much higher and there are red flags around his personality #nufc

What I like about Strand Larsen potentially signing is that he is not a "fancy name". Would much prefer him to a Vlahovic or Ramos who seem to the preference of many. He is the kind of character that would suit our team ethos well and is guaranteed to keep his toys in the pram #nufc

FWIW I think both would be good back up options with their box presence as Elanga and Murphy will make a trillion passes into the box. But they are also very different to the technical profiles we chased early in the window. Why haven't we identified similar profiles in Europe months ago?

21.08.2025 10:23 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Absolutely. While I appreciate that there are shared attributes, I just felt that e.g. the huge differences in off ball movements were telling. Actually a similar situation to us chasing Ekitike and then Sesko. All great players, but some key differences that must have huge impact on the way we play

21.08.2025 09:57 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The fact that we are chasing two strikers with such fundamentally different skillsets for the same role shows that the requirements are pretty much just premier league experience and the ability to hit the target. Christ, we need a sporting director so bad #nufc

Isak gifted #NUFC an opportunity to set things absolutely straight and let the world know that he will not be leaving. In an instant they shut down all the noise and speculation and only gained sympathy and support. Thanks mate, you just scored an own goal and lost.

Interesting how it is only the so-called journalists who build their career and brand around the transfer window who seem to think that Isak to Liverpool will still happen. Keeping the story alive as long as possible is mainly good for their business rather than credible #NUFC

Wonder who is on the Wilson replacement list if the Wissa deal doesn’t happen #nufc

18.08.2025 10:51 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

I would not be shocked if Newcastle at least tried with a massive bid for Julian Alvarez. I don't think Howe would settle for anything other than a top shelf player to replace Isak #nufc

17.08.2025 11:14 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Me neither. I just really cannot see a single good, available option out there

15.08.2025 18:28 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

And out of the blue we sign Vangelis Pavlidis

15.08.2025 18:22 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Maybe not an extravagant signing, but a potential game changer for us. When we have had injuries or fatigue in our first choice midfield three, our levels have just dropped so much. Ramsey finally gives us the quality to rotate without this happening #nufc

13.08.2025 06:44 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

His skillset would cover some of our obvious shortcomings just like Thiaw's does. Add the obvious additional striker and our squad would look close to complete #nufc

11.08.2025 17:59 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

If it wasn't for the Afcon issue, Jackson and Wissa would by far be the most ideal choice. Both can hit the ground running and the upside of having two strikers on that level to rotate between would very likely make up for losing Isak #nufc

08.08.2025 15:52 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

So, we want to bring in a left footed midfielder to replace Longstaff. McGinn, Rudoni now Kenneth Taylor all linked #nufc

08.08.2025 07:10 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I honestly don't know why he is not being mentioned more. Should be available. 49 G/A in 67 bundesliga games for Leipzig. Fat as f*** and a total nuisance to defenders. Great alternative to Wissa.

Doing a deal for Lois Openda as soon as they get the formal rejection from Sesko #nufc

07.08.2025 10:32 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

We may not be able to get anyone as good as Isak but if we can get two players of the level just below and rotate heavily, so they are kept fresh, we might just be better off. A combination of, say Jackson and Ramos would not be bad at all.

06.08.2025 14:22 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

It makes so much sense to get an experienced player in to cover the short term. Remember that we have Salia, Neave and other young striker talents coming through in a few years time. #nufc

17.07.2025 11:01 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I would love Simons, but he's not really an ideal fit for any of the priority positions we need covered. So I doubt that he would be a key target considering his price tag
