Purely anecdotal, but I do think that the increased visibility has actually led to more people questioning and finding themselves in that time, so maybe a silver lining there.

I couldn't find very much info online, but it seems like that would be provincially-regulated, so it would vary, but I'd wager no. Unfortunately probably not a lot you can do aside from take them to court as far as I could find.
