What's happening in Texas (and possibly NY, CA, IN, and elsewhere) around gerrymandering is a reminder: The Democratic Party needs to invest in winning state legislative races *every cycle, all the time.* You never know when a crisis will hit and we'll wish we had more seats or different leaders.

We’ve discovered a literal miracle with almost unlimited potential and it’s being scrapped for *no reason whatsoever*. This isn’t even nihilism, it’s outright worship of death and human suffering.

I heard there used to be a political party that believed the federal government shouldn't tell private owners what they can and can't do -- you know, free market.

Wonder what ever happened to them...

I'm all for getting rid of gerrymandering nationally, but Dems can't be the bigger party and unilaterally disarm until the GOP is willing to do the same on their end.

These are all good signs and I hope Dems - both at the national and state level - builds on this.

FWIW I am not worried about Dems' low approval ratings that DC's chattering class is having a field day with.

If Dems fight - people will show up to fight w/ them and then vote for them.

I say this as a sustainability and climate advocate…

You individually recycling, planting a tree, etc. doesn’t really matter.

Large policy levers do though — pushing us to lower emissions, more collective sustainability of supply chains and products.

If you’re not pissed off at Trump’s government, you’re frankly just not paying enough attention or really need to examine whether you’re getting well enough informed in your own news consumption.
