I live in Canada.

No, I said we knew what Kamala was about.

I envy people who move through academia unconcerned about how their race, gender, sexuality, class, or ability is affecting their longevity and ability to take care of their family.

I'm not allowed to be the carefree academic. I'm a Black woman.

White academics, if you REALLY want to disrupt academia and dismantle the imbalances that exist within it, start taking Black, Brown, Indigenous, queer/trans, and disabled scholars' work seriously.

Fly us out for interviews. Cite us. Pay us for talks.

Treat us like colleagues.

If you are a white woman with tenure, there is no scenario when you should be asking a Black, Brown, or Indigenous woman without tenure for unpaid labor.

I'm an assistant professor, and I've paid even my friends for lecturing in my classes. Often, out of pocket.

Please do better.

No different than Twitter (X). People will block you if you don't agree with their opinion on a political matter.

Luckily "selfish" is subjective. What's important to you, May not be as important to others and vice versa.

Some marginalized groups like Black people have always lived under oppressive US governments. This is no different. They were also able to figure out ways to thrive under these condition.

To assume the people who didn't vote for Kamal, but voted for Trump is a weird way to think.

Many people chose not to vote or voted for the Green partt candidate.

Also, I'm Canadian.

I don't think the people who didn't vote for Kamal la automatically vote for Trump or believed in Trump. There was a Green party candidate and many people chose not to vote.

I wouldn't vote for someone who supported the genocide of my friends and family who live in another country. That doesn't make me a bigot.

The genocide in Gaza was the bigger reason.
