I keep seeing Garp discourse that forgets this crucial point and seems to suggest he would be a better character if he left the Marines and resolved his internal dilemmas in favor of being anti-government. He would be a better person! He would be a MUCH less interesting character

I remember the first time through the anime, I spent hundreds of episodes being like “one piece is really good but everyone is so young…” and then Jinbe was presented to me like a beautiful gift

the former second in command of the world’s most notorious pirate just hanging out on an island next to Navy HQ, coating ships and drinking. incredibly unbothered and yet still unbelievably powerful. zero qualms about doing absolutely anything for the man destined to surpass his former captain

thinking about silvers rayleigh again (just got to the first sabaody arc in my anime rewatch). god what a man

One of my top one piece rare pairs is Rayleigh/Jinbe specially post-Marineford when they’re managing Luffy’s training and recovery together. I think while they were strategizing and brainstorming and complaining about this crazy kid they were also kissing 😊
