Cogs whirring after first meeting with the team @walklistencreate.org, with @elizafevwrites.bsky.social, to kick off our both being writers in residence for the next year. Opportunities, ideas, connections. What are these feelings I'm feeling?

List of contributors to the current issue of Ambient Receiver. Around forty names in a serif font on a white background. Illustration used on the cover of Ambient Receiver issue 3. It is an abstract picture with a large blob of cream, yellow and pink, with items sticking out of it including what looks like green grass and a small statue. The whole think is on a darker greeny grey and pink background.

'Realignment', a new story of coastal erosion, falling and love, is out today in Issue 3 of Ambient Receiver. And it's in such great company. Take a look here www.ambientreceiver.org

Hi Mona, thanks for asking! I write speculative fiction with an eco-hopeful, de-industrial vibe. I also write creative non-fiction which explore being an embodied human living on a planet which provides basic life support systems I'm complicit in trashing.

Nooooo! Don't scrap the Finch ruling!

Keir Starmer may see them as part of “unnecessary red-tape, well-intentioned, but fundamentally misguided, environmental regulations” but the Finch ruling, Habitats Regulations, biodiversity net gain, etc, are vital protections for our planet and for nature.

Absolutely delighted that 'Seeing the Moon', a Tithingdale story, has won the fiction section of this competition.

Thank you @chantallyons.bsky.social for your very kind words - that's what I'd hoped for and you saw it in this very short story.
