Nonprofits keep NYC running. From housing support to workforce development and family services, these organizations do critical work every day. But delayed payments and complicated systems make that work harder than it should be. Glad to host a roundtable to learn how we can help push for solutions.
More affordable housing gets built when we remove the obstacles in the way. Glad to be having a conversation with the New York State Association for Affordable Housing to find real efficiencies in the system and cut red tape, so more homes get built, faster.
On this day in 1908, 15,000 women marched through the streets of New York City demanding shorter hours, better pay, and the right to vote.

NYC’s economy is strong and revenues are up, but we can’t ignore the warning signs. Job growth has stalled outside of home healthcare aides and social services. We need action now to retain talent, connect people to good-paying jobs, and build an economy that grows for everyone.
100% affordable housing. You read that right. We just broke ground on Timbale Terrace at 118th & Park in East Harlem. A parking lot will be a mixed-use building w/ 340 affordable homes, including nearly 100 supportive housing units. It took about 2.5 years to get from approvals to groundbreaking.
Tapping into our reserves or raising property taxes would only deepen the affordability crisis many New Yorkers are already facing.
