The music is great across the board

The song of the wolf is stuck in my head.

It is a shame how cinema history has diminished with the decline of physical media.

I love the ebs and tides of inspiration build genre and tropes over time, like how Kurosawa influenced the westerns of 60's and 70's just as earlier westerns shaped his work.

I am always glad to run into other Kurosawa guys. Every year I do a double feature of Yojimbo and Fist Full of Dollars, and this year I did it last weekend in prep for Yotei.

I am really digging the other samurai movie filters as well, but my list of movies to rewatch is going up exponentially.

The connection between Samurai and westerns is a proud tradition dating back to Kurosawa.

He was making westerns with Katanas by his own admission. It makes sense Yotei would lean heavily on these troupes.

I was wondering if Sucker Punch would go full cheeks at the hot springs in Yotei.

It is not as front and center as with Jin, less "cheekscake", & a little more blink and you miss it, but still there.

MY SHORT GAME IS ON FIRE today.

Getting into Everybody's Golf:Hot Shots has been a nostalgic joy.

Beginning my journey in Yotei, and the game is stunning in Ray Tracing Pro mode.

My only complaint so far is the default camera look speed, which is easily increased. Having finished up AC Shadows DLC last week, the comparisons will be interesting, but I am happy across the board so far(30 minutes)

I am having lots of fun, the denser map is causing all kinds of ADD issues. I keep forgetting what I am doing and just taking what comes my way.

My only issues are the camera speed, but that was easy to fix and the face textures could be better, but the rest is so gorgeous it doesn't really matter.

They both encompass so many similar tropes, while managing to be quite different experiences.

You and me both! There would also be moments of just standing around while I got stoned.

The price is enough for me to pass, having played the hell out of it on Wii. But I am glad it is available on modern consoles for newer generations.

The hyperbolic need to bitch and moan is so ingrained in gaming discourse, that I am often embarrassed.

Though not perfect (what is) I really enjoyed my time with this one.

I honestly believe much of the hate was manufactured by the usual suspects.
