Morsels is possibly the weirdest (positive) game I have played all year. If you know me, that's high praise.

Really cool top-down roguelite that goes HARD in the direction of visual/mechanical obfuscation.

I had no idea what my lil guys did, how their attacks worked, what did/didn't hurt me, what I was supposed to be doing, etc

#Morsels just came out on Steam. The (Dutch) review for this bizarre twinstick shooter is out now on the website I write for. The game, published by @annapurna.com is weird, colorful, and I absolutely loved my time in it.

It reminded me of Nuclear Throne, but even more strange and eccentric.

The opening cinematics blew my mind as a kid. It absolutely felt game-changing and gave context to the story/side-scrolling gameplay in a way no other game (for me) had done before. They're still rad to this day!

Also, working on these games was weird/surreal sometimes in a way that didn’t make any sense. Everyone who did probably has some strange story to tell, like that one time I came into the office on the weekend to set up a buggy pre-release build of 4 so big Rock Band fan Seth Rollins could play.

Also, I loved Freestyle Guitar solo mode, y’all haters can get bent. 😀

Attempting to revive this was a labor of love by everyone involved, from the massive lift of making sure legacy DLC just worked to bringing new instruments to market. It’s understandable but sad that this didn’t revive the plastic band phenomenon, but everyone who made this happen should be proud. 🖤
