I'd like to remind so-called 'old school' trans women that I transitioned in 79, have never been stealth, came out as a dyke in 84 after getting bored with shitty men, have always fought for women's and queer causes and am in solidarity with young queers.
When the fascist regime is successfully making American people feel isolated and hopeless, this overwhelming showing of support and solidarity with the people while outright rejecting the pathetic military parade is very meaningful. I was feeling so hopeless and alone so it meant sooo much to me too
As the marginalized fall through the cracks, or in this case are hauled off in unmarked vans and disappeared as part of a brutal authoritarian crackdown, the masses remain singularly concerned about whether protestors are being too violent. I hate this stupid country so much.
People just select the most destructive worldview and don’t think twice. How do you build smart, thoughtful, vibrant communities when the mouth-breathers of society are drunk with power and solely focused on destroying them?
