Perfect morning for a coastal cycle commute, capturing the changing light as I made me way into North Tyneside
Capturing a bit of gorgeous early light around Killingworth on this mornings ride to work.
It's tough being #autistic
The part of my brain that likes to be thorough says go left, because I have to check that path for accessibility (and I know it's fully accessible)
The part that likes to do it's own thing says go right because it's more fun.
It really is a tough choice 🤣
I HAVE to be DOING SOMETHING when I'm on the phone (quite often it's pacing the room, and stairs, and passage etc
Me:
Overexplaining
Overrthinking
Feeling anxious when things change
Feeling anxious in new situations
Misinterpreting
Poor eye contact
Disengaging from people around me.
Word of the morning is ‘williwaw’ (19th century): a sudden violent squall or a toppling gust of wind.
Goes well with ‘thunderplump’: a sudden downpour that soaks you to the skin in seconds.
Not one little bit
Decent layering, windproof or waterproof shell, merino base/mid layers, good gloves, a buff and a skully, lights and reflective bits. Tyres appropriate to the conditions.
For me it's a combination of enjoying the sense of motion from being balanced on 2 wheels and the sense of freedom because I'm not encased in a metal/glass box stuck in traffic.
Majority of my journeys are utility but I can easily add a bit of fun or adventure if I wish.
Don't wish to upset you but the north east can expect some light showers later in the morning. And, i get to ride along by the seaside tomorrow :-)
I've seen a teenager cycling with a cello case on their back (I assume there was a cello inside of course)

Autistic shutdowns are a response to stress. While some autistic people may stop responding entirely, others who usually speak may only be able to say one or two words. If someone stops responding in their usual way, that may mean they are in shutdown mode.

Every year during autumn I try to visit this gorge in Austria.
It's known for its reddish water - especially after heavy rain falls. Here there was a light rain all day and this brought out the colours even more.
