They were closed for a week to set everything up, but it was worth the wait bc everything was so pretty ๐ฅน

So happy to see this Hoya finally flower. The plant already had penduncles when I got it, but this is the first time it has flowered in my care. So excited to see more from this Filipino native.
Hoya davidcumingii
*name makes me feel weird though*
The cutest little Syngonium albo leaf just popped up in this tray. The bunny ears are so tinyyy ๐๐ฅน
28.11.2024 06:12 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Creating a succulent shelf is a slippery slope that I am currently sliding on ๐
A little tough especially now that succulents are getting popular again and prices are rising!
I wanna get into aloes but the cute hybrids are a little hard to find in the Canadian Prairies :/
I did miss this! Youโve got yourself a new blog reader now โบ๏ธ
26.11.2024 16:58 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0So.. your yard gets filled with the sweet smell of the orange blossoms in the spring, followed by that huge bougainvillea show?? I need your yard! ๐ or at least a visit to experience it ๐ซ
26.11.2024 16:57 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Oh wowwww ๐คฉ Now THAT is a bougainvillea bush! Big props to late pops for brightening up the entire street ๐๐ค
26.11.2024 02:17 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0That was my experience with my echinopsis too! I left for mexico while it was in bud form, then came back a week later to a crispy, papery flower. I was devastated that I fully missed it. Thankfully it did flower once already last spring. Canโt wait to see it bloom again next year!
26.11.2024 02:02 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Great plan! Iโd love to get an update in the spring when it has grown back in.
I did the same to my plant (P. โSanta Leopoldinaโ) this summer and now it has gotten huge ๐ณ I gave away the cuttings in my local FB plant share group ๐

25.11.2024 18:13 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I would cut and propagate. Then once rooted, pot the propagations back in with the main plant. This will make your plant look bushier!
Or just cut low on the main plant and allow it to branch out and get bushy by itself. You can also give away the cuttings instead of tossing them โบ๏ธ
I still make holes in my pots using both ways. I just find cutting through the plastic risks cracking and ruining the plastic container. Ended up buying a soldering iron from ali to reduce waste.

Peach Chatterโs Double Hollyhock
Pineapple Surprise Coleus, Easy Wave Petunias (White, Rosey Dawn, Yellow, Pink Vein), Sweet Potato Vine, and a Succulent arrangement (Aloe vera, Pachyphytum oviferum)
Big Duck Orange African Marigold, Bon Bon Calendula, Yellow Easy Wave Petunia, Strawberry Blonde French Marigold, and Northern Exposure Heuchera.
The blanket of snow that fell this weekend is a welcome sight but itโs making me miss outdoor gardening so much.
Had to spend my morning coffee looking through this summerโs garden and reminisce.
I wish I lived in a climate where I could grow massive bushes of these.
Iโm imagining a branch of this grafted to a root stock together with a leaf-variegated variety, a hot-pink flower, and a cream flower. It would be like having a pre-made bouquet as a bush!
Cactus/succulent flowers are the best! How long did this one stay in bloom for you?
25.11.2024 14:50 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Thank you!!
I have been obsessed with the paraiso verde since I got it. This leaf definitely justifies that obsession.
So excited to see which plant you post for this coming Friday!
Iโve heard people having success with water propagation yes! I personally like to stick my propagations straight into soil, kept in a sealed container, under a bright light or on a windowsill, in a warm room.
This little guy was grown from a leaf cutting a year ago!
I know exactly what you mean! That dreaded petrichor scent after a dry spell almost ensures one of my plants are either gonna rot away or struggle for a while

23.11.2024 05:37 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Looking through #flowerfriday today was such a treat.
Made me want to look at #foliagefriday to see the activity but there wasnโt much.
Please tag your fave foliage plants so I can also doom scroll on it pls and ty ๐ซฐ๐ฝ
Hereโs my first one, a Philodendron โParaiso Verdeโ
Cutting it down to a third of its full size is recommended. It looks like you have a paniculata and theyre super hardy, I know gardeners who cut them all the way down every year and still get a huge, beautiful showโyou do risk weaker stems and a floppy plant if you cut it all the way down though.
22.11.2024 15:38 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0@shybiscus.bsky.social I would be more than happy to tuck this within my ornamental container garden. Look at that foliage colour!!! ๐คฉ๐คค Plus weโd get a little treat afterwards hehe
22.11.2024 15:31 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The cold has finally come to my Z4a and it looks like itโs going to stay.
So many of our perennials, shrubs, and trees have been showing new growth and/or swelling buds! It worries me so much that theyโre using up too much energy right now and will not be set-up for success come spring next year. ๐ฐ
Looks like a Lantana montevidensis. Youโve got a great specimen! How old is it?
22.11.2024 14:52 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0So much appreciation today for these holiday cacti for brightening up a gloomy, drizzly morning. ๐
