In my language “I’m taking this week off” translates to “every outstanding email you’ve had will get answered this week and demand immediate attention”

Anatomy of a Boycott Fascism can't survive when it's starved. But we have to get serious about what that looks like.

NEW at Signal Break from @rynnreed.bsky.social:

Fascism can't survive when it's starved. But we have to get serious about how to do that and what it looks like.

When I finished college 20 yr ago, what I really wanted to do was neighborhood organizing, but I couldn't find any such jobs paying a living wage. Today the situation's much better, but with the Right's $, we're still at a huge disadvantage. That's why for me building out govt capacity/jobs are key.

The governor who steps up right now and declares that the federal government is at war with its people and actually does something about it should be given the 2028 presidency.

Interstate solidarity is the only path forward at this point.

Abolish and prosecute ICE. They did a murder in broad daylight today. Imagine what they're doing in the closed facilities we're somehow not even allowed to see.

One thing Zohran said last night that stuck with me is how we are showing liberals that you cannot fight fascism with neoliberalism. It’s a historic fact that a strong left has been critical to stopping autocracy.

It is in literally everyone’s best interest to support this NYC project.

Why is this win so important? Because Zohran is showing us how to be brave.

Infographic titled “Republican Ecosystem.” Four large curved arrows form a clockwise loop: Donors at the top (magenta), Campaigns on the right (gold), Advocacy Media at the bottom (blue-purple), and Activists on the left (sage green). Each arrow feeds the next, depicting a self-reinforcing cycle. From the Campaigns segment, a smaller gold arrow points outward to a label “Mainstream Media” beside a purple color swatch, indicating spillover influence on non-partisan outlets. Credit “Matthew Sheffield, flux.community” appears at bottom left. Infographic titled “Democratic Ecosystem.” Three large curved arrows form a clockwise loop: Donors at the top (magenta), Campaigns on the right (gold), and Activists on the left (sage green). Together they create an incomplete circle with a visible gap at the bottom. A small blue square labeled Advocacy Media sits outside the loop, connected by a thin arrow from Activists, showing weak integration. To the right, a large blue box labeled Mainstream Media represents the dominant external media sphere. Credit at lower left reads “Matthew Sheffield, flux.community.” The design contrasts with the “Republican Ecosystem” version by emphasizing the Democratic side’s weaker feedback loop between activists, donors, and media.

Since Barack Obama, Democratic presidential candidates and "dark money" groups have raised more money than Republicans--often doubling them.

So much of the Dem money is wasted. Publishing a piece on this Sunday explaining these graphs and much more. I need your help to make the piece viral. Thanks!

It’s an objectively dark period in America but it’s hard to understate how much joy I get watching Cuomo get dunked on day-in and day-out.

We Deserve a Party that Takes Us Seriously What we can learn from the Republicans' loss in the 2012 presidential election

In our most ambitious piece to date, @rynnreed.bsky.social does a deep dive into the RNC's 2012 Growth and Opportunity Project—and asks the question of why the DNC hasn't done a serious audit of their own.

A must-read.

Has liberalism become pathological? Toby Buckle on how John Rawls made liberalism too weak to defend itself, and whether ‘reactionary centrism’ is an accurate term

🧵 Liberal elites have become pathological, so committed to their own Rawlsian neutrality that they are unable and unwilling to defend their own philosophy.

We simply cannot live in a country where the death of hate mongers is a tragedy and the death of everyone else only warrants a shrug.

Meet Shakira. Ten years ago, she was living in a shelter with her three kids, working at a non-union hotel.

Now she's a member of HTC.

Unions are how working people can build a dignified life. But in a city as expensive as ours, they need local government on their side.
