I haven't seen Scarlet yet, but this was how I felt about the director's previous work, Belle.

Time to crack out the DVD/Blu-ray. Goodness gracious.

I couldn't get into Metroid when I was younger (middle to high school age), but after playing so many other Metroidvanias since then, I went back and tried out Zero Mission on GBA Nintendo Classics a year or two ago, and really enjoyed it.

Looking at comments for Castlevania and I feel like I'm in a madhouse. Complaints about screen shake, the artstyle, how everything is generic.

I know people want to just hate but for god's sake this is a great team with a fantastic artstyle. Crawl out of your own ass and enjoy something for once.

Nice, I played this at an anime con a few years ago.

I got into a micro-argument with someone on Nintendo Life about this in the Wii U era. Their logic was that a 7/10 "wasn't good enough" when their money could be spent on higher rated games.

Which, in retrospect, was kind of a crazy thing to say in the Wii U era of game releases.

The last one that focused on Japanese games was good, despite what people on the internet said.

I personally don't mind it. I also found it easier to do quarter circles in fighting games with the separate d-pad buttons... As in, I could actually *do* them with the separate d-pad buttons.

I didn't even realize that the winter olympics were coming up until they started. I really only kept up with that stuff because of the Mario & Sonic games, huh?

2. Balloon Kid

Played via Game Boy - Nintendo Classics. Fun game, but controls/physics got a bit frustrating in the last two levels or so.

It was honestly fine, just not worth waking up to watch live for.

The only two I can think of at the top of my head that I'd like are Popful Mail (Sega CD) and Magic Knight Rayearth (Sega Saturn).

I'm sure there's more, and I am just too tired to think of them right now. But I think Cool Boarders coming over is really cool.
