America's vice president criticises Scottish Government over abortion buffer zones America's vice president has accused the Scottish Government of 'thought crime' over its implementation of abortion buffer zones.

Scotland introducing abortion buffer zones was a good thing and if you ever doubt that just remember that it upset JD Vance.

James Watt is so desperate to be famous it is cringeworthy.

Apparently cutting the Β£749m spent on β€˜government PR’ would be a good place to make savings. Not surprising, given Brewdog’s history of ripping off ideas from agency pitches and job applicants.

There's a small contingent of people online who get angry when you say this but:
Wikipedia is unquestionably the most successful utopian project of the internet age, and its destruction would be a crime against humanity

The UK needs to get as good as France at building major infrastructure A bloated planning system, a London-centric approach, and frivolous political stories about cats all help turn major infrastructure projects like a third runway at Heathrow and the HS2 high-speed rail...

Build, build, build.

Really want to travel by train as much as possible. But this, coupled with WiFi from the dark ages, is off putting.

A flooded quarry, a mysterious millionaire and the dream of a new Atlantis An innovative mission on the Welsh border, funded by an anonymous private investor, has begun work to create a β€˜permanent human settlement’ under the sea

Great piece. The bottom of the ocean is far scarier than deep space. I wouldn’t go live there for all of the treasure in the lost city of Atlantis.

Something has to be done about the scourge of people playing music/videos on trains with no headphones.

Absolutely unacceptable behaviour. The lowest of the low.

Cane Corso: The new 'status dog' after XL Bully ban? Weighing up to 50kg, the Italian mastiff breed can have a bite force of 700 psi - stronger than a lion's.

Animal charities argue breed specific legislation (BSL) doesn’t work. About one year on from the XL Bully ban, this piece pops up.

If you target a breed, the bad owners will just move onto another breed. That’s why animal charities are right. BSL doesn’t, and never will, work.

Two books I’d recommend on #HolocaustMemorialDay.

β€˜The Volunteer’, about Witold Pilecki, who broke into Auschwitz to find out what was going on there.

And β€˜The Escape Artist’ about Rudolf Vrba, who broke out to tell the world.

We must never forget the horrors, or heroism.

Unwinding after one of the most rewarding days of my career - the start of active service for MV Glen Sannox, the first major vessel to join CalMac’s fleet in a decade.

A brilliant day for the people of Arran and lots of hardworking folks at CalMac, particularly the crew.

I’m all for apex predators coming back to Scotland. It’s sorely needed.

But rogue releasing of lynx - especially ones which are apparently used to human contact - is not the way to do it. This sets the #rewilding argument backwards, and makes the case for lynx reintroduction all the harder.

Islanders bid a fond farewell to MV Hebridean Isles - BBC News Memories of a much-loved CalMac ship now retired after 39 years of service off Scotland's west coast.

Hugely rewarding to work on the comms around the retiral of the β€˜Heb Isles’ in recent weeks.

A vessel which has seen love at first sight, clandestine parties and much more ⬇️
