His craven personal self-preservation is driving this escalation and that makes it all the scarier.

Crime in D.C. is at historic lows.

Trump isn't calling in the national guard to fight crime; he's doing it as a power play and a test of his authority.

If we have to flood the streets with the military during peacetime, just imagine what he'll do during the elections.

I keep coming back to the "feeling" of oppression or the "feeling" of discrimination because that's really all that's happening. Whites aren't being oppressed or discriminated against; they just feel that way because they're decentered within a world that has been organized around them.

Today I learned that when sugarcane farmers burn their fields, a “black snow” falls for months on communities downwind. Under FL law, burns are prohibited when the wind is blowing into wealthy, white neighborhoods. They’re only allowed when it’s blowing into poor, majority black areas.
