...people can and should decide themselves on how to describe what they do. This might be different to what their employers 'brand' them ( often arbitrary). And in any case, many of us end up taking on tasks that don't neatly fit into any definition - and this can be satisfying or necessary.

It sounds like a scientist of some sort. I think the specific job title would depend on the employer's industry and domain. Ive found in different industries, specific titles can be rich with meaning and be very different to equivalent activities in other fields.

Contrast this with an actual game changing technology like social media - people were fanging for accounts. Parents were asking their kids to help them get online. Nobody was forced onto social media, and charged an extra 40 bucks for privilege.

I love the way academic papers in the mathematical sciences really ground you before confounding you. First line in the Introduction: "Many of us are familiar with fruits and vegetables"

A favourite restaurant of our family has a menu item which reads: "Chicken Parmigiana with chips and salad or vegetables" and the logical ambiguity is so good we talk about it every time we visit.

I was wondering this too. My skepticism of this was piqued with the phrase 'Existing-Policies Scenario'. Scenario based forecasts are very different to predictions. And lower end estimates of these might just be naive 'status-quo' or no-change scenarios.
