At yesterday's lunch talk Christian Marxsen presented his intriguing forthcoming article on "Use of force: A comprehensive analysis of state practice between 1945 and 2020" which he co-authored with Florian Kriener - a dive into quantitative analysis and the use of force.

In this post, I look at Israeli settlements in Palestine and analysing the history of the legal concept of forcible transfer, I argue that besides individual war crimes in time of occupation they're also part of wrongful acts entailing state responsibility under international law. 🧵 1/
