but even in that scenario wouldn't I just feel like I'm living a double life? I'd be stuck with that same feeling of "I'd rather be doing something else" for years, feeling like I'm wasting my time and energy into something I don't even care about. Its complicated.

Sometimes I do think about if I'd pushed through and did something my parents would have wanted, if I'd have enjoyed drawing more.

Then drawing would have never become work to me. My identity, my worth or my wealth wouldn't be tied to my drawing. It would just be drawing for the sake of it.

Gonna be entirely real, I realised I'm not good for much else besides drawing

I consider painting one of my weakest skills, especially painting colour variation and temperature, so I'm trying some things to see what I can do

testing how far I can push some basic colours

its easier to get a lot of colour variation with a opacity fading brush, but its very difficult to control, I quickly find things getting messy.

A solid brush is unforgiving and limiting but It forces me to be more conscious of my colour choices. I can get a finished result much faster.
