Concern that cost of Glanmire flood work could impact other Cork relief schemes
In 2012, a severe flood caused tens of millions of euro worth of damage to 82 homes and 30 businesses in Glanmire and Sallybrook.
It happened again.
Glashaboy flood relief scheme in Glanmire cost overrun is 316%
From €12m budget to €38m cost.
This is typical for OPW FRS works.
Upstream storage would have been a fraction of this, less than €5m.
Now multiply this by hundreds of projects.
