CAF cousins in Connolly.

Throwback to our "Premier Rose" railtour which was the first passenger working of a mkIV carriage set from Dublin Connolly. This provided a now rare opportunity to photo one beside a 29000 class railcar. Both were manufactured by CAF in Spain.

Railtour Recap: "The Great Southern Railway Centennial" 16th November 2024 On 16th November 2024 Táilte Tours operated its third mainline railtour, "The Great Southern Railway Centennial" from Dublin to Killarney.

On this day last year we operated the "Great Southern Railway Centennial" railtour from Dublin to Killarney via Limerick, commemorating 100 years since the GSR merger & marking the 1st passenger operation of mkIV carriages over the Limerick line.

50 years closed: a history of the Ardee branch line The railway line to Ardee opened in 1896, closed to passengers in the 1930s but stayed open for goods and special excursion trains and railtours until 1975.

The Castleisland Railway: 150 Years On 2025 is the 150th anniversary of the opening of the Castleisland Railway.
