It's kind of wild that Unreal has blueprint, which is not unlike how a lot of narrative tools work, yet doesn't support actual narrative development

I very much relate.
What makes tool design for narrative hard is that narrative requirements change per title. My own tool doesn't even support all the types of work I've done in my career.

But a lot of frustration can be mitigated by choosing an existing tool during pre-production
