In June 1919, navigator Arthur Brown, this black cat toy called Twinkletoes, and pilot John Alcock made the first nonstop Atlantic flight. Twinkletoes rode in Arthur’s Jacket. Both men had served in the Royal Flying Corps during WWI. You can see him in RAF Cosford Museum.

I can't phrase this in a way that makes me look good. The answer is: embarrassment. I don't innately understand trans stuff, and I have a tendency towards Dawkins-esque pedantry. But then I read a lot and met some trans people. Awkwardly for me, the GCs were wrong and trans people were right.

I found this episode of Archive On 4 very moving: Kenneth Williams reading Bible stories in full and fine voice (his Satan is particularly good), and the programme weaves these into his own life story and complicated Christian faith, much of which feels familiar.
