Any chance I know anyone that could get me closer to the substack engineering team? I'd love to hear from them what they are up to and how things are going for them!
04.02.2026 17:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0@sphericalcowconsulting.com here is another part of the community, the at protocol developer community, which is also exploring using FedCM to facilitate parts of their flows. Any chance we can reach out to them and try to find some synergy?
04.02.2026 17:38 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0@sphericalcowconsulting.com have we had the chance to reach out to the ActivityPub folks and try to connect the dots?
04.02.2026 17:35 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0@sphericalcowconsulting.com just today I was browsing hackernews and clicked on a substack link and was surprised to see substack as a FedCM IdP :)
Kind of cool that they managed to put that together without ever reaching out to us!
TIL that we are still making progress on the `sudo` command line tool :)

if you're interested in #atproto getting a better sign-in flow in browsers, please give this a thumbs up. #FedCM also if u know more about how this would benefit you, leave a comment following their template! github.com/web-platform...

01.02.2026 15:10 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So a not too well known thing about me: I'm the co-author of the Client ID Metadata Documents internet draft that Bluesky / AT Proto uses for OAuth.
This document came about due to my work on Mastodon's OAuth implementation.
If you'd like to support my work: support.thisismissem.social
@willem.dobs.nl put together a pretty cool prototype and is starting to fire out PRs!

@thisismissem.social FYI
This seems pretty interesting!
Anyone going?

Sweet!!
22.01.2026 16:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah, I think I arrived at the same conclusion, having spent a good 5-6 years in Google Search crawling JSON-LD.
I think the criticism is more general to the whole triples / graph notion, not just JSON-LD (e.g. applies to anything that is comparable to RDF).
We intend to make agentic login better for users!
20.01.2026 23:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0@captaincalliope.blue any chance you know what's the status of this implementation?
20.01.2026 15:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Maybe @captaincalliope.blue can help get FedCM prioritized at Mozilla?
20.01.2026 15:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Any chance we can merge this prototype to the bluesky client and the common/shared PDS so that everybody else could use?

19.01.2026 15:01 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0@captaincalliope.blue any chance you'd be interested in applying to a Google Summer of Code mentorship to find a student to help implement a baseline of FedCM in Firefox?
summerofcode.withgoogle.com/programs/2026
They just kicked off the program, and I applied for a couple for Chromium.
Any chance you would be able to apply to a Google Summer of Code mentorship, as part of the Blue Sky project or the ActivityPub community?
summerofcode.withgoogle.com/programs/2026
They just kicked off a call for projects and it is a great opportunity to mentor someone!
WDYT?
Something to note about the address/url bar is that it doesn't have a great analogy on mobile ... It exists, but much smaller surface area ...
15.01.2026 16:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yeah, I think so.
Integration with autofill (as shown in this video) is already available in chrome canaries as this:
github.com/w3c-fedid/Fe...
Would that help?
Sweet! Whenever you get to it, just send it over and I can help you debug!
15.01.2026 16:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Maybe we can try the ActivityPub's Open Social foundation?
15.01.2026 15:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Maybe @aaronpk.com 's Auth0/Okta could pitch in?
I can ask internally if that would be possible, but I think that might murk the waters ... ideally, it would be driven by an independent institution ...
do you have a public link that i could use to try and debug?

15.01.2026 15:29 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah, IIRC, I think you were worried about breaking users and website author's expectations? Was that it?
