You can't trade cards that have two or three stars. It's only up to one start rarity.

They did release a statement IN the game, which you can access by touching the letter shaped button on the top right corner of the screen after the title screen.
I promise, they often communicate interesting stuff about the game, its events and whatnots sometimes.
