Why can’t these people use our language normally? It all sounds like they are translating from German and forgot how nouns work in English.

That’s unfair and unkind. Everybody is on a journey and this guy’s just taken a good turn. Why dump on him?

Or, see if a local teacher can use them to teach about WWII in a really cool way. Maybe including some archival work and oral history about your grandfather.

Contact the local museum where he lived growing up; they may not have room either (and that is no judgement on your legacy items) but maybe they will. Worth asking.

By contrast, in Scotland all children are given the vaccine at school in S1 (8th grade in the US), and it’s the child’s consent that is sought. I suppose parents could intervene if they had objections, but I have never heard of that happening.
