Agreed and it’s also just a way for people to excuse hateful narratives.

3 rings stacked one on top of the other in a non uniform staggered manner. The bottom and top rings are in yellow gold and the middle ring is in silver. The rings are eternity bands with coloured emerald cut stones set, giving a rainbow feel/vibe. The background is a a white table with a wood accent in the back

Midweek ring stack - a bit of color to breathe life into the daily mundane of working. #fashion #jewelry

Robert Munsch, Canadian children’s author, approved for medical assistance in dying Robert Munsch, the beloved Canadian author behind children’s books such as ‘Love You Forever’, ‘The Paper Bag Princess’ and ‘Mortimer’, has been approved for medical assistance in dying (MAID).

I could never read “Love You Forever” to my children without tears.

Robert Munsch is a Canadian icon, who has requested and been granted MAID due to dementia.

Everyone I know who has requested MAID, has done so with dignity and the love of their families.

Today at school, we were proud to see a record 45 girls come out for soccer tryouts. Unfortunately, due to the new "Alberta Fairness and Safety in Sport Act" legislation requiring female students to present "confirmation of gender" before participating, 10 girls were turned away for not having their form at the time of tryout.
This same legislation has already caused the other three girls' junior high soccer teams in our pool to withdraw, and now our team may lose its season entirely, while the boys' season proceeds without interruption.
This policy not only restricts access to athletics for girls, but also unfairly targets and scapegoats LGBTQ2S+ youth.
Absolutely ridiculous.

From: @letstalkalbertaeducation on Instagram.

Here’s the result of the #UCP BS policy targeting girls who just want to play sports.

10 girls who didn’t get their info in on time were turned away. 3 other schools’ girls soccer teams had to withdraw; the whole season is now in jeopardy. Even so, boys still get to play.

You suck Dani.

What is Due Process? YouTube video by Robert Reich

The cruel attempt to strip due process from immigrants is an attack on all of us.

If government can arbitrarily target one group today, they can target anyone tomorrow.

I'm old enough to remember when polio put my friends into iron lungs.

We dutifully lined up at school to get vaccinated. We eradicated the disease. We protected the common good and saved lives.

What RFK Jr. is doing to public health in America is a disgrace.

💔 5 days before her surgery, Ontario cut healthcare for migrants. This put Maria & her baby's life at risk.

@ontariosdoctors.bsky.social is advocating to cover medically necessary care for uninsured patients like Maria 👏

Agreed. Sorry hopefully didn’t come off as blaming hospital staff, not my intention. As a hospital worker myself in the realm of quality improvement i know how frequently individuals/teams are falsely scapegoated as the root of errors so hate to come off as if I’m playing into this narrative

Thanks! Yeah it can be tough but i get it. We just need to get by in the system we’re in and know everyone’s trying their best. Or all band together and sue to gov! lol

I completely agree! I think most have already been operating in the negatives, especially since Covid, and with backlogs of patient care layered on top. Bed shortages, staffing, resources and wait times only got worse. Feels a bit disheartening!

We sat in sick kids emerg once for 16 hours! Waiting in ERs really has become a normal expectation and that shouldn’t be the case. Although proper triage should be happening it’s really a systemic issue 😞

So horrible to read. Long hospital wait times really does feel like the norm now- hospitals have a part to play no doubt but solutions need to start upstream.

Instinctively med errors and safety events are often blamed on individuals when in reality its system issues that set the circumstances

The Air Canada strike wasn’t just a win for workers. It was also a wrench in Mark Carney’s plans Workers at Air Canada won by simply refusing to abide by the Liberals' approach to labour.

The Air Canada strike wasn’t just a win for workers. It was also a wrench in Mark Carney’s plans.

Thanks to Air Canada’s flight attendants, Carney will surely think twice before trying to override the Charter rights of striking workers again. #Opinion

Darnell Lamont Walker discusses the importance of choosing the right health care proxy.

"If the medical world becomes a maze of urgent turns and flashing alarms, your proxy is the person holding the map and calmly guiding the way to your chosen exit."
