Next steps in #patientsafety- the evolving roles of patient’s and their families in patient safety
Interested in hearing from folks who have used this resource and how it went/how it was implemented
If you’re changing the definition of human rights, it means you plan on violating people’s human rights.
The patient safety movement is in need of new energy, new ideas, and new commitment. IHI’s Transforming Safety Together (TST) Network is partnering with hospitals and health systems ready to advance patient and workforce safety – together.

Agreed and it’s also just a way for people to excuse hateful narratives.
Is it just me or is this a little bit terrifying?
“Safe care for every newborn and child” is the theme for the 2025 World Patient Safety Day.

Midweek ring stack - a bit of color to breathe life into the daily mundane of working. #fashion #jewelry
I could never read “Love You Forever” to my children without tears.
Robert Munsch is a Canadian icon, who has requested and been granted MAID due to dementia.
Everyone I know who has requested MAID, has done so with dignity and the love of their families.

End of the first day back at work after 19 months of pure child rearing.. mom brain about to explode 🤯
Here’s the result of the #UCP BS policy targeting girls who just want to play sports.
10 girls who didn’t get their info in on time were turned away. 3 other schools’ girls soccer teams had to withdraw; the whole season is now in jeopardy. Even so, boys still get to play.
You suck Dani.

The cruel attempt to strip due process from immigrants is an attack on all of us.
If government can arbitrarily target one group today, they can target anyone tomorrow.
I'm old enough to remember when polio put my friends into iron lungs.
We dutifully lined up at school to get vaccinated. We eradicated the disease. We protected the common good and saved lives.
What RFK Jr. is doing to public health in America is a disgrace.
In a blog for IHI, Kerri Maya, Director of Clinical Implementation at Sutter Health, describes the paradigm-shifting approaches to patient care that she sees in her everyday work with older adults.

Well this sucks.
💔 5 days before her surgery, Ontario cut healthcare for migrants. This put Maria & her baby's life at risk.
@ontariosdoctors.bsky.social is advocating to cover medically necessary care for uninsured patients like Maria 👏

Agreed. Sorry hopefully didn’t come off as blaming hospital staff, not my intention. As a hospital worker myself in the realm of quality improvement i know how frequently individuals/teams are falsely scapegoated as the root of errors so hate to come off as if I’m playing into this narrative
Thanks! Yeah it can be tough but i get it. We just need to get by in the system we’re in and know everyone’s trying their best. Or all band together and sue to gov! lol
I completely agree! I think most have already been operating in the negatives, especially since Covid, and with backlogs of patient care layered on top. Bed shortages, staffing, resources and wait times only got worse. Feels a bit disheartening!
We sat in sick kids emerg once for 16 hours! Waiting in ERs really has become a normal expectation and that shouldn’t be the case. Although proper triage should be happening it’s really a systemic issue 😞
So horrible to read. Long hospital wait times really does feel like the norm now- hospitals have a part to play no doubt but solutions need to start upstream.
Instinctively med errors and safety events are often blamed on individuals when in reality its system issues that set the circumstances
Statistics Canada says one in five Canadians cannot afford to fill their prescriptions. Use our letter-writing tool to send a message to the new Liberal government calling on them to make good on their promise to bring in universal pharmacare:
“Medicare saved my daughter. Pharmacare will keep her alive,” says father.
What is your pharmacare story? ⬇️

The Air Canada strike wasn’t just a win for workers. It was also a wrench in Mark Carney’s plans.
Thanks to Air Canada’s flight attendants, Carney will surely think twice before trying to override the Charter rights of striking workers again. #Opinion
This! Especially the part on “compassionate, efficient, and inclusive”
Darnell Lamont Walker discusses the importance of choosing the right health care proxy.
"If the medical world becomes a maze of urgent turns and flashing alarms, your proxy is the person holding the map and calmly guiding the way to your chosen exit."
