🔎 #MTPSL are Microbial Terpene Synthase Like enzymes.
The study of these enzymes provides us insight into the specific biochemistry and also the molecular evolution of these enzymes that perform very interesting chemical steps.

✅For the development of bioengineering
Bryophytes transform and produce molecules faster than many other of plants, and can be grown in photo-bioreactors.
#bryophytes #science #plantscience #biotechnology #chemicalecology #bloomscrolling
✅Their biochemical interest
They have very unique ways to produce certain molecules that can be valuable.
They also provide new ways to catch carbon and analyse the impact of climate change on an ecosystem, help them recover from a disaster, evaluate air quality ⬇️
🌿Liverworts: some are similar to mosses and have leaf like structures, while others have a thallus, a type of flat green leaf, which looks like a big tounge.
🌿Hornworts: all have a thallus topped by spores.
We study them for ⬇️
They live without roots or a vascular system.
So, they don't use “veins” to transport water and nutrients; they absorb everything directly from their leaves.
They are divided into 3 sub-categories ⬇️
🌿Mosses are composed of an aerial or creeping root like structure and leaf like structures ⬇️
#Bryophytes are plants that everyone know, but hardly ever consider, they are just there, between the tiles, on the trees and rocks.
✨However, they are absolutely exceptional✨
Direct descendants of the first plants to colonise land from the sea, algae, they appeared around 450 million years ago ⬇️

Next time you pass through a lavender field you may be mistaken, it's possible that I'm right in front of your eyes.
🔎To be sure, check the inflorescences: if they are shaped like a trident, it’s me!

And because I am born sterile, so I'm reproduced by cutting, which guarantees consistency in the quality of the essential oil I produce.
💡However, my essential oil is of lower quality than that of my parent True lavender as it contains more camphor and eucalyptol. ⬇️
I am the first PAM plant (aromatic and medicinal plant) to be cultivated in France.
Because I have a higher production yield of essential oils than my parents and I am also taller than them. ⬇️
