Is this good? I tried to not just show how I tend to apply blush but give an explaination as to why I put it in the places I do even though its not always very realistic.
I hope it is still readable even after bluesky compresses it.

I see the majority of your posts. If I miss something it's usually the following tab getting a bit jumpy with reposts sometimes but only posts is reliable. I wish they let repost visibility be limited per user but that feature seem to have some back end issue for them.

Did up a little tutorial of what I'm thinking about when I draw a generic mawshot or snarly dragon/beasty for another artist asking for pointers.. Kind of a dragon tutorial, kind of a teeth tutorial, idk. Thing. Enjoy!

One of the biggest things to me in appeal in a drawing is the contrast between straight and curved in form. Itโs not universal for every type of drawing, but for me personally itโs important and often when I see a drawing that feels mushy, itโs lacking this. This diagram is by Stephen E. Gordon (?)
05.08.2025 04:44 โ ๐ 887 ๐ 192 ๐ฌ 7 ๐ 1The stupidest thing about learning color theory is that each color has a completely arbitrary perceptual value. It's not a smooth gradient. So for some purposes, you're forced to use certain colors if you want a specific effect.

Art tip I posted 10 days early on Boosty (link in bio)
I donโt plan posting tips yet to come here or anywhere else besides Boosty. Iโm not an expert of any kind, but I will be happy if it will help anyone/if someone tries it out.
I've been talking a lot about shading studies that I have been doing, but I haven't talked much about the process. Eventually, I will actually break it down tutorial style. Helping people learn will hopefully stop them destroying the community with AI. Here is how my values look.

Enter this: a repository of open-access, AI-free images of wild & exotic taxa. Artists creating *without AI* have blanket permission for derivative/transformative use.

I saw this style of d666 table on a blog somewhere and never saw it again, but it's one I'd like to mention as a helpful tool I've used in the past for developing scenarios in my hexcrawl. It's a bit more vague than creating a A->B adventure but it's good at coming up with some connections
