I work for a big that pushes AI integration hard. At the same time, they have >100 new job reqs out for s/w engineers because their AI coding tool turns out so much hot garbage, so quickly, they need 2x people to review/fix it to fulfill the AI-promised schedule

Skepticism is healthy, but the crux of the story is entirely credible. I was on the receiving end of a similar speech from a commander in western Iraq, back in 2003, long before Christian Nationalism became a military career path. Annointed leaders and bringing forth the apocalypse are not new.

I watched this churchification of the military from the inside from roughly 2001 until I retired in 2014. I suppose it was predictable that it would end up here, yet still, I lack the vocabulary to describe my level of disgust at what the military has become today.
