RFK Jr has cost countless lives with his ignorant anti-vaccine stance. He has seen the science and decided instead to base decisions on debunked misinformation and faked studies just to make himself feel better. If there is a better word to describe this than “Evil” then I don’t know what it is.

The right wing likes to claim that the first thing dictators do is take away guns. This is not true: the first thing dictators do is silence the independent media. That is what the Trump administration is doing by frivolous lawsuits and by threats from the FCC.

Too many young folks take the whole “arc of the moral universe” thing to mean that progress is veer forwards. In face, a case of “2 steps forward, 1 step backlash” is more typical. And when those engulfed in bigotry are well funded and organized, it can be even worse.

It is getting hard to keep track of which “good old days” the Republicans want returned. Is it the Iraq War? The 2008-2009 financial meltdown? The pre-civil rights and pre-suffrage era? Black Lung Disease? So much goodness and oldness coming our way!

Trump has become an absolute joke on the world stage. Putin played him like a cheap fiddle. Netanyahu ignored him and didn’t even keep him in the loop. Modi tells him, “talk to the hand.” The only person paying attention to Trump is Bukele in El Salvador and that is just for the money.

Remember when Republicans were the party of small government and personal freedoms? Now they have become the party of Big Brother, complete with the thought police — cancel culture in the form of a political party.

The characterization of the “Big, Beautiful Bill” as a so-called tax bill completely misses the mark. That is part of it, but It is mostly an implementation of the Project 2025 plan to dismantle government and. Concentrate power in the executive.

I think this is a case of Trump simply not bothering to hide the kind of influence peddling that has happened for decades by both parties. And why should he hide it when his supporters don’t care and the rest of his party is too cowardly to do anything about it?

But isn’t it a shame that the judiciary has become so politicized that we now have to look at who appointed a judge before we believe the ruling to be founded in the law, or believe that this time the administration MIGHT comply with it?

The main point to me is that Musk promotes conspiracy theories and refuses to see his own behavior as the root cause of the problem. If he is truly that blinded by ego, it is not fixable.

RFK Jr long ago transitioned from being a misinformed crackpot to dangerous madman, contributing to the measles deaths in Samoa with his denial of vaccines and science. Vesting him with government power makes it much worse, giving him power to ruin many more lives with his lunatic views on autism.

Normally, comments by a President would not cause such consternation in the markets. But, with the pattern of erratic and downright stupid behavior by Trump, and with his own party not willing to push back on even the most clearly unconstitutional actions, there is real danger to the world economy.

Hey give the Republicans a break — they are busy trying to steal the State State Supreme Court election and disenfranchise over 65,000 voters. That is surely taking most their NC mindshare.

It is easy to see why there is so much divisiveness when people get completely different views of the world from their media. For example, Fox News doesn’t seem it important to mention today’s Supreme Court ruling pausing deportations.

The decimation of inspectors general and other enforcement functions of government is entirely intentional. Under the guise of cutting red tape, Trump and DOGE are making it easier to steal from and defraud people.

The DoJ is airing the allegations about Garcia from 2021 as an excuse after the fact of their illegal deportation. Funny how nobody on that side of the aisle seems bothered by the felony conviction and civil findings (both by juries) against their leader. Maybe if Trump was Latino they would care.

I think many of us are still searching for what we can do individually. I attended the #HandsOff demonstrations (as did millions of others) but with a Democrat in the house and 2 Democrat Senators, talking to my congresspeople would be preaching to the choir. What else can a private citizen do?

The DOJ airing 4-year-old allegations about Abrego Garcia as a distraction from the administration's illegal conduct and their ignoring of the Supreme Court is just shameful. I take such allegations seriously, but they are simply that: allegations. Not charges, not convictions. #RuleOfLawMatters
