The best (lamest) part of being a comic artist is working for months on something and you can’t post anything about it so it looks like you’re just sitting around

In the following days, after being called out, the sub could not continue to suppress the comments without looking bad, I believe this is a microcosm of the macrocosm. Even in MAGA there was not a way to defend it especially with Jan 6 and Kyle Rittenhouse right there.

R/conservative had a post full of criticism of the shooting when it happened, but when i checked again several hours later all those comments were removed

I think this didn’t happen. I think this is a fully made up thing because they lost some the base. 2a defenders would not accept it as it stood. The conservative spaces were full of critical comments saying they needed to accept responsibility and defend the 2a

There is no official video of the incident like body cam, Pretti was not formally charged with anything and there is no official report of the incident

The reporting also went around TikTok saying CNN reported it so it must be real.

Today, someone started posting to those same subreddits that they were wrong and the video was real because they saw another angle of it. Different users corroborated that they saw the video too and it was read. No one posted that other video though

In the video, Alex movements were strange, being able to kick a car hard enough to take a huge chunk out of it seemed unlikely, the piece that flew off disappeared into thin air, a logo disappeared off the car, lots of hallmarks of an AI video

Soon after, Donald Trump JR posted a video of the event. The video went around a lot of subreddits asking if it was AI, and the response was a resounding “yes”

So if i continue to post about current events, I understand that people and collaborators may want to put distance between themselves and me and I accept that.

So they can try, but it doesn’t look like it would work or is working

This may mean it’s kind of impossible to control which is reassuring. People figure out how to game it if something is suppressed which they have done since murdered=unalived and if we don’t like content we scroll and the algorithm is built to move us to stuff we won’t scroll so it auto corrects

Conclusion: I think I am back to regularly scheduled program. There isn’t really a definitive way to determine if this is deliberate fuckery or just glitching. But the way the algorithm is built shows that even if it is deliberate our interactions dictate what gets show to us next

Yeah that is hard to see. I never get any traffic at all for my content and at this point it’s not worth my time to heavily invest in content creation. And then to be like “let’s draw a cute cat” while the world is crumbling feels awful.

Side quest: lady that posted that is a now former trump supporter (maybe why she was in my new feed of conservative videos) but said that he ran on being the candidate of every man and she wants to get back to that….BITCH HIS PLATFORM FULLY SPELLED OUT MASS DEPORTATIONS AND DETENTION CENTERS

The powers that be came it -hard- with misinformation yesterday and were immediately shut down but continue to double down so I am curious if it’s going to be business as usual or if this is an ‘intelligent’ action vs a happen stance

Yeah at this point there isn’t really a way to collect all the data to see what’s happening until after the fact or compare to what is happening later. People talk about suppression all the time but I usually end up in the same spot or pretty close.

This doesn’t mean that is -actually- what is happening. It’s not a big enough sample size for me to make a judgement definitively but I am just trying to document what I am seeing as it’s happening

Other people are reporting the same issues and are directly correlating it to the content they are trying to post or comment. Certain names get their comments deleted (allegedly) and one user said all her videos she recorded to post today have been deleted until she started posting in code

The will of the people will fuck your algorithm every time

Oof! New development! I jumped on and now I am getting fed lots of “Christian family” content and people pushing light right wing talking points (ie: it’s disrespectful to protest in church) but all the videos are getting -roasted- in the comments so perhaps not the desires outcome.

The posting and commenting being off is what’s new. I have had issues where I get shown old content or my old content gets pushed in the past and it usually regulates in a day or two. But with so much content and conversation about Minneapolis, I am curious about that first part being in the mix

Make Some Noise has a mini game called “Hollywood Ho” where they have to give a made up movie title, then a logline, then act out a scene and I think this would be a great one for that

I don’t usually experience “outages” in this way. It could mean nothing and just be glitchy or my service not being good or whatever. But I am wondering if something is “retooling” things. I will be curious to see what it looks like tomorrow

Today, my feed is non-functional, I can’t comment on anything, videos are stopping halfway through, recycling old stuff, though not perfectly filtering out current events or people making statements

Yesterday it was non stop videos about Minnesota and Alex Pretti. And if it wasn’t those it was recycling Renee Good videos from the beginning on the month.

Just to document for posterity- TikTok had the US acquisition go through on like the 22nd. People have been saying different things about how that affected their algorithm. My partners got -more- radical and mine put me exclusively on indigenous TikTok for awhile
