We have so many opportunities to start over. Each new morning is an opportunity to start over, but there’s nothing like a whole year to start all over. New Year’s provides that opportunity. My observation watching BBC coverage of President Carter’s passing. He has this expression on his face — a look of peace and love. His eyes are almost always smiling. It made me think of Thich Nhat Hanh’s saying, “I vow to live fully in each moment and to look at all beings with eyes of compassion.”
