Have you considered it could be both?

I mean, I wouldn't say that women's breasts were "covered for all of human history" ... or are even universally covered in all cultures and public situations today. But, biologically speaking, they are an indicator of fertility, which is what sexy is mostly about anyway.

Map from the Australian Bureau of Meteorology showing rainfall in Australia between 1997 and 2009. This shows that during this time, drought was severe in the southeast and southwest, but northern and outback Australia experienced a wet period.

Wikipedia dates the map Cypher shared as published in 2013. It's probably using data from a bit before that. That's practically a best-case scenario for Western Australia's water supply.

Well ... look on the bright side. A few air strikes on Iran aren't going to justify suspending elections.

I don't think it's all that new of a development, but I don't think it was that relevant to the election. I think Harris lost because people felt like the economy was making their lives harder, thus they wanted a change in leadership.

I checked the news. I can report that there is far too much news today.

A "40-point victory" is the margin, a point is a percent. A 40-point victory might mean they got 65% of the vote and the second-place candidate got 25%, with the other 10% going to third parties. They are 40 points ahead of the second-place candidate. It's a dominant performance.

Musk is going to be so mad at the people who think he doesn't know what a Nazi salute looks like; he defiantly thinks he is smart enough to know what a Nazi salute looks like.

I don't know that famous people are really the "best" communicators, some unknown teachers, therapists and lawyers would give them a run for their money. But, being an excellent communicator is probably a prerequisite for fame, among other things.

I bet that there are some people being extra quiet about their favourite pastimes in NZ now.

The Press

I didn't have that old gambler Winston Peters announcing a ban on Greyhound Racing on my bingo card.
But, in the end, I don't think there is enough betting money in NZ to make it commercially viable to the level needed to meet the animal welfare goals.

I have been sick the last couple of days, which was nice because my mind didn't have enough energy for the crippling anxiety it normally does.

I mean, it's possible to hate the player and the game, especially when the player is spending millions on having those politicians write the rules of the game to their advantage.

As long as resources are limited, morally speaking, there really isn't any room in healthcare for profits. Any money going into shareholders pockets should have been used to help people.

Yesterday in the UK, a private members' bill proposing proportional representation (by 2 votes) passed its first reading in the House of Commons. It probably will fail at some point but for those interested in electoral systems it's an interesting development to keep an eye on.

It's really the German equivalent of the "Gun Debate" in the US. It makes no sense really, but they are hell bent on keeping the right.

I was under the impression that most Presidents have a few dubious lame-duck pardons. It's not really as big a deal as it seems. You'd probably do it for your son, your son-in-law's father, or the ex-husband of that lady who gave your wife Senate campaign money.

So America is getting its own version of the New Zealand Ministry for Regulation, but called the Department of Government Efficiency or something - because the US isn't cool enough for ministries. I'm sorry to tell you that as far as I can tell, this ministry has been a complete waste of time.
