hey, i made a terrible comic instead of working #makeaterriblecomicday2025

a loose and colourful illustration of a sandbar in a shallow, teal sea, under the bulbous rolling tower of a nimbus cloud in a blue summer sky. the water is shallow and clear enough that the sandy bottom peeks through the foam and patterns of waves-- populated with crops of seaweed, shells, starfish. seaweed and shells are washed up onto the exposed sand. in the centre, a young trans man appears to have been washed up onto the sandbar like flotsam, lying flat on his stomach, his long hair mixed into the sand, seaweed clinging to him, his legs stretching back into the water where the waves seem wanting to reclaim him. a small wave is breaking behind him, strangely, white water surging up into the air. he is awake, face partially hidden by his arms, his eyes peering up at the young child standing over him, casting a short noontime shadow. the kid's footprints in the sand expose an intent to meet him, but it's not clear from where they wandered, or how long either of them have been here.
