Delicious in Dungeon Vol. 2 - You just keep falling more in love with these characters and it’s only the 2nd volume, the art style is so good, and it’s making me very hungry to see all the food they make. Senshi I would do anything for you. Very intrigued by the mystery!

Sing Sing (2024): Wow, wow, wow. A wonder of a film, I truly have no words, made me so deeply emotional. A testament to the power of the arts and how we stay human in face of a world that wants to strip that of us. Colman Domingo, Clarence Maclin, you deserve so much better

Man of Steel (2013) rw: My feelings on this are so complicated; has some of the best Superman moments and some moments make me want to tear my hair out. However, for all its faults, I still love revisiting this.

Lisa Frankenstein (2024): A super fun movie, practically the definition of a cult classic. Wish I had seen this in theaters but glad I watched it! Kathryn Newton is hilarious and Cole Sprouse is surprisingly great as The Creature.

The Wild Robot (2024) rw: Watched this with my grandmother and she didn’t ask me a question the entire time! That’s some very high praise!
One of the best dreamworks movies I fear.

Gone Girl (2014) rw: One of those movies that just gets better on rewatch, Rosamund Pike is one of the best in the business and acts her ass of in this film. One of my favorite performances ever? Yeah, it definitely is.

Parasite (2019): My girl and I watched this for the first time (yes I know I’m late), but man the hype was not lying for this. That image of the face on the stairs will haunt my nightmares, and the way the entire movie plays out is just perfection. Special movie from a special filmmaker. Subtitles!

How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies (2024): As someone who’s close with his grandmother, this hit me too hard. I can’t even say much more because I’ll get too choked up, everyone should see this movie. But also I hate you Soei.

Interstellar (2014) rw: Watched it with my grandmother, had to explain things to her but otherwise she loved it! “Because my dad promised me” makes me sob every time

Diary of a Wimpy Kid (2010) rw: Unironically one of the most fun movies to come out of the 2010s, captures the spirit of the books so well and Greg and Rowley are so funny. I will say weird that they added some random girl for no reason, like what did she do besides be under the bleachers?

Emilia Pérez (2024): Utter trash I regret wasting my time watching, had no good songs, horrible acting, and the overall tone of the film is everywhere and not in a good way. Disrespectful of both trans and Mexican peoples. Fuck you Jacques Audiard I hate you

Crazy Rich Asians (2018): Michelle Yeoh can do no wrong, all in all, this was a fun and creative rom com. Didn’t blow my mind or change up the genre, but a fun movie to watch with some real talent behind the camera!

My Neighbor Totoro (1988): Usually Miyazaki’s works always have some deeper theme to explore, but I found this one to forgo that in lieu of making you feel the pang of a childhood you don’t have anymore. Incredibly fun and whimsical, a feel good movie for the ages from one of the greats

Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl (2024): I would watch a million of these, I love Gromit so much and the stop motion is so charming. I hope Aardman never stops making films

Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person (2023): This has a really creative approach to Vampirism, and how the vampires deal with it. That record scene is probably my favorite of the movie and is gonna stick with me for a while.

Ending the year with 130 new books read and 257 new movies seen! I consider that a great accomplishment and here’s hoping I’ll get to more in 2025!

Nosferatu (2024): The vibes of this film are immaculate, Robert Eggers has made an instant classic. Lily Rose-Depp is amazing, and the entire film is just one you need to experience in a theater

Singin’ in the Rain (1952): I didn’t think anything could make me miss doing musicals but this made me. What a fun film, there’s nothing about this that I didn’t love, I don’t see how anyone hates this

Look Back (2024): It’s best if you don’t know anything going into this, but it will emotionally wreck you. And also make you question yourself, especially if you’re an artist of any kind, brilliant film

Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) rw: I still like this movie a lot, it’s got a specific charm that I just really like, not to mention michael Keaton is great as the villain

Die Hard (1988): Quite possibly the best Christmas movie, an action packed spectacle that makes some really smart writing decisions, this is gonna be one I rewatch every year

Juror #2 (2024): A great courtroom drama with a fantastic performance by Nicholas Holt. The movie had me gripped even in the throes of my sickness, but I have to be honest, they lost me a little with the ending. Didn’t ruin the film completely but it does bring it down a bit

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2024) rw: Didn’t mention this last time but Jim Carrey is at his best in this with his double duty eggman roles. He plays off himself scarily well, also he and stone are so gay, it’s so obvious and I love it so much

Carry-On (2024): Unrealistic copaganda, but a well made movie with good tension so I’ll overlook it for now. Jason Bateman can play a great villain, he was very intimidating and I liked how everything came together at the end!

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2024): Easily the best of the bunch, Sonic 3 bursts with energy and a surprising amount of emotional beats. Keanu is FANTASTIC as Shadow, and the entire third act is peak jump up and down fun, I can’t wait to take my brothers to see this

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022) rw: A definite step up from the first movie, Knuckles is great and idris Elba does a great job, Jim Carrey is fantastic as always and Tails brings such a fun energy to the film. I am a wedding subplot apologist, it’s funny as fuck and that’s all that matters
