I practice my German by following a German meme subreddit, which is how I found out (and have been keeping up to date on the latest developments) that angry catfish are attacking humans in a Bavarian lake.

People are shocked by this, but we had to pay for this, for the index at the end of the book, and for a publicist, which means our entire advance got eaten up before the pub date. Authorship is a wonderful career milestone, but it also has the potential to completely fuck up your finances
