Simeon Saint 🎭

"Rain check for that," Simeon hummed.

The bailiffs were calling them in now, Simeon took a deep breath. "Here goes nothing."

"You could put on a clown‘s nose." They reached up to poke his. "I‘m kidding. Will you be in the gallery? I think seeing you there would be good."

Simeon winced slightly, but relaxed when he recognized Miles. "I hope so. I hate this. I know it‘s a good thing, but I hate it."

The cuffs felt even heavier today than usual. Simeon rubbed his wrists underneath as they waited for the trial to start, tapping his foot nervously.

Simeon hated to admit it, but he was getting nervous again. He still had a deep distrust in the justice system, and his unhelpful brain provided that it'd probably only get worse rather than better. But he worked with Eddie once again, and that made it a little easier. Having people on his side.

Simeon didn’t let go of him until he had to, then let the guards escort him back to his cell. Hopefully, this wasn’t their situation for much longer.

"Yes, please do." Simeon kissed him back, then reluctantly let go. "Be careful on your way out. That alarm usually means a break."

Simeon laughed at that. "You are probably not wrong about that."

Above them, an alarm suddenly went off. Simeon looked up, then let out a long-suffering sigh. "Oh, lovely. Our time's about to be cut short."

"I'll do my best, I can't say I'm particularly good at it," Simeon pondered.

"She is. She was a bit like a sister, I suppose. Not that I ever let anybody get very close, but that's the closest thing to it, I believe."

"We did. We still sort of do, she visits me sometimes when they’re in town." Simeon smiled a bit. "Didn’t really expect her to. I guess she‘s pretty forgiving."

"It’s my calling. Once a clown, etc."

He brushed back his hair, reminiscing a bit. "I did have fun with that, even if it was more like my own kind of witness protection."

"It sure is. I'm a free spirit. ...in theory, anyway." He laughed at his own joke.

"You can’t tell me what to do." Now he was grinning, though.

Simeon scrunched up their nose a bit. "I guess. Maybe."

"I believe it. Not that I knew you back then, but you seem like you‘ve grown past some stuff." Simeon looked away, casually playing with their hair. "I‘m not doing any growing. I shall remain damaged. …for now."

"Mmh… There‘s a lot of things I try not to think about." They moved back up and pecked him on the lips briefly. "Not always so easy, is it?"

"We all have a little bit of darkness in us, I think…" Simeon teased him with his teeth, careful not to be visible doing this. "Some people act more on it than others, though."

"What a nickname that is. Very dramatic," Simeon hummed, leaning to the side to kiss his jawline.

"Really! My, Miles, I had no idea just /how/ popular you are!"

Ugh I‘m so bored

"I mean, you are." Simeon grinned teasingly. "I‘m just saying. I have a feeling you have a few admirers that would… Pardon the expression, but /kill/ to be in this position."

"Here I thought he might see himself more in my position," Simeon purred, "Though I am flattered."

Simeon snickered softly. "He‘s just jealous~"

A black eye and some cracked ribs. Could be worse, I‘ll count it as a win

That had Simeon immediately melting, the sensation always gave them goosebumps. He leaned against him heavily, like a cat searching for warmth and affection.

"Then you‘ll be looking forward to getting them more often soon," Simeon hummed, stealing a couple more kisses, teasingly light.

Judging by the noises I‘m pretty sure they went through with their riot. Guess it was just a matter of time.

I‘m gonna be as invisible as I can possibly be for the next few hours…

Simeon leaned back in to kiss him again, slowly and sweetly. Then he leaned their foreheads together. "This is nice."

Simeon chuckled softly. "That would definitely be preferable."
