1/Great to be on Bluesky- to get started here’s a mega thread on what I know about #FND and how to have the best chance of beating it. It's just my personal view- so not set in stone - I hope people will find it helpful.

It Doesn’t Define Us, but It’s a Part of Us MeSsy with Christina Applegate & Jamie-Lynn Sigler Β· Episode

What a provocative and powerful phrase to flip that narrative and invite some curiosity about what it would be like to show love for those parts of yourself.

"I made this pact a while ago that because #MS is a part of me I will love it, because I have to love myself"

Sandra in Australia, I can't get your words out of my mind 🧑

I see so many ppl struggle with the "warrior" mentality...pushing through, feeling a burden, highly self-critical...

Word of the day is a favourite, from old Scots.

To β€˜tartle’ is to hesitate while introducing someone because you have completely forgotten their name.

- Better work situation
- Driving
- Independence
- Socialising
- Not needing supervision
- Self-confidence
- Not feeling washed out
- Feeling safer etc

I love that this paper points us to using those same principles to help answer questions like "Will I be able to work after surgery?".

Predictive models are a great tool for advising people with #epilepsy about their individualised risks around surgery BUT we tend to approach this from a clinician-centred perspective, focusing on cognition.

What patients say matters most (outside of seizure freedom/reduction):

Question for my #neuropsychology colleagues. Do you prefer using regression-based demographic norms over traditional (e.g., age-stratified) norms? What are your reasons for favoring one over the other?

As disabled people, we are worth more than our economic productivity. Access to therapy and healthcare should never depend differentially on our participation in work programmes or being deemed 'work-ready.' Care is a right, not a reward. #WhitePaper #GetBritainWorking

Home Β· Navigating Neuropsychology Welcome to NavNeuro, the podcast where we present cutting-edge scientific findings, discuss important topic areas, and interview experts in the field.

This one's pretty in-depth so probably more for those working clinically already. Love the opportunity to do deep dive into an area I'm less familiar with and brush up my knowledge.

This is a great one that I recommend to any assistant or trainee psychologists. A really accessible introduction to a wide range of topics that gives a great peak into the many varied roles of a neuropsychologist.

Two friends discussing their different journeys with #MS. Yep, it's a bit 'woo-woo' at times but I'm also just blown away by their courage in being so down-to-earth, real, and honest. So many useful reflections for anyone living with a chronic illness.

I've found getting avulux glasses really helpful for taking the edge off my photosensitivity. They're not cheap though. FL-41s were also good and not quite as costly. Both were much better than standard sunglasses for me.
